Fed: Legal aid too poorly funded: national study

SYDNEY, Jan 18 AAP - The legal aid system is too poorly funded to meet even its most
minimal promises and refuses grants to many people who meet the criteria, a new study
has found.

The national study by the Law and Justice Foundation, partly funded by the federal
government, compared family law services received by legal aid clients and self-funded
clients.

Despite concerns about funding, the survey of clients and lawyers found that Legal
