Sri Lanka sends replacements for injured players

Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene and two other players were called up Wednesday to reinforce an injury-hit squad taking part in a triangular one-day series in Bangladesh.

Jayawardene, who was initially rested for the series, departed Wednesday along with uncapped batsman Dinesh Chandimal and Mahela Udawatte.

Batsman Chamara Silva and allrounder Muthumudalige Pushpakumara were injured in the match against India on Tuesday and will return home.

Opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan injured his groin in the opening match Monday but will remain with the squad as he hopes to play later in the series.

Sri Lanka has won both its matches in the series against Bangladesh and India.
