QLD: Rail strike may be looming after union rejects pay offer

Queensland may face further industrial action from rail unions after they rejected
a pay rise at stopwork meetings around the state today.

DAVID DAWES, a spokesman for the Queensland Council of Unions, which is representing
the six rail unions, says up to 5,000 rail workers at meetings around the state today
have rejected the offer, opting instead to pursue a claim for 12 per cent.
