NSW: Man caught with gun in Sydney's south

SYDNEY, Aug 24 AAP - A 24-year-old man was facing firearms charges after allegedly
carrying a loaded gun in Sydney's south.

Detectives found the weapon after searching the man near Mortdale Railway Station about
1.30pm yesterday, a police spokesman said.

He was later charged with possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing
an unauthorised pistol and possessing a firearm with altered or defaced identification.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
