NSW: Brogden unhappy at alleged shop sales of drugs

New South Wales Opposition leader JOHN BROGDEN says reports that illegal drugs are
being sold over the counter at a convenience store on a busy Sydney street are alarming.

Mr BROGDEN says it's simply appalling that in the heart of the city's nightclub district
drugs may be being sold to anyone who walks through the door, including teenagers.

And he's asked why police were none the wiser about the alleged drug dealing operation
until they were tipped off by The Sunday Telegraph on Friday.

Mr BRODGEN has queried the police intelligence when he says a newspaper has, over a
four-day period, put in place a sting and exposed a potential drug shop.

But he says the NSW Police are handicapped by the fact they're down 300 detectives.
